The balance of injuries from Elche´s Nit de l’Albá firework spectacular has revealed that 54 people were injured this year, 5 of which were graded as serious. Two of those injured were children of 6 years of age.

It was revealed last week that there would only be a single paramedic ambulance on duty covering the entire city and surrounding area on the night, on account of the second ambulance being diverted to duties on the coast, but 10 basic life support units were made available.

The health ministry has pointed out however that the number of injuries this year were slightly less than in 2014 when 63 people were treated as a result of the injuries sustained in one of the biggest firework based events in Spain.
