Lionel Messi appeared to head-butt Roma defender in Barcelona’s 3-0 pre-season friendly win at the Nou Camp last Wednesday night.  The Argentina forward, 28, was booked for the incident, in which he also grabbed the throat of France international Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Messi had dribbled past Yanga-Mbiwa before the referee blew his whistle, and the former Newcastle defender said something that lit Messi’s fuse, as both players went head-to-head.  Yanga-Mbiwa and Messi were yellow-carded, with the striker then going on to score as Barcelona continued their preparations for their La Liga title defence.
