Torrevieja’s local police are to get 40 new revolvers which are easier to use and safer than what the Mayor, Jose Manuel Dolon, described as the “obsolete weapons” that are still in circulation.

Meanwhile in Elche, some 48 thousand euros is being allocated to provide grants of up to 500 euro for officers to buy safety and bullet-proof vests.
