A judge has thrown out a denuncia over last year’s mock crucifixion organised by eight local Torrevieja police officers, which had been issued by local police chief Manuel Antonio López Vera.

Judge Juana López Hoyo ruled that no criminal offense had taken place as the group were entitled to freedom of expression, and their stunt outside the Town Hall windows in their row over work contracts was totally legal.

A police officer posed on a wooden cross some 10 metres off the ground leading to a council meeting being suspended for 15 minutes.
