Trophies galore were handed out at this week’s first ever end of season dinner for the newly formed Monte Mentals walking football team. The event at the Rincon de Miguel restaurant in Los Montesinos attracted 51 players, partners, and friends, with a lighter edge to the after dinner presentations.

Howard Yeats was awarded “Diving Expert 2015.”  Bryan Jones the “Running Man” award, with Peter Elliot becoming “Fashion Man of the Year” for his psychedelic football kit! Other awards went to Paul Carter as “Goal Hanger” 2015; Baz Walker  got the “Who me ref?” award and last but not least for his gentle, kind treatment of his opponents on the pitch, big Harry Richmond from north of the border was awarded the “SEE YOU JIMMY” award for fair play.

To his great surprise Monte Stan was given a trophy and some goodies from the players in appreciation for his efforts on their behalf and his work for them. In turn, he thanked everybody especially  Howard Yeats and Mike Green for their essential support in making the club so successful and confirming that  the Manchester City Community Walking Footballers would be coming over to play them in October.
