Elche’s manager, Fran Escriba, is set to take over at Primera Division side, Getafe, according to the Spanish sports paper, AS.  Getafe have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with  Escribá to take over their coaching position left vacant following the club’s decision to relieve interim manager Pablo Franco of his duties.

Getafe are awaiting to make certain they will not be relegated due to outstanding debts, much the same as Elche were, before they make the agreement official. Once Getafe have settled their issues and are out of threat of administrative relegation, they will then make the announcement official and begin preparing their squad for next season.

Escriba is still under contract with Elche, who have launched an appeal at the sports arbitration court, and Escriba had also been linked with a move to take over at Greek champions Olympiakos. It appears though that Getafe have beaten everyone to the punch and will wait for the dominoes to fall before making anything official.
