Playa Flamenca on the Orihuela Costa went all pink last Sunday with more than 500 walkers taking part in the annual Walk for Life in aid of Maria and the Pink Ladies and the AECC cancer charity.

The sunny weather was in stark contrast to last year’s rain, and made the perfect setting for the fifth staging of the event, which saw Maria Wilson leading the way around the five kilometre route, pushed in a wheelchair by her husband Carl, followed by the sponsored walkers.

Live entertainment was provided at the promenade all the day, with the final total raised still to be announced.
