An Alicante City hotel manager has pled guilty to planting a camera in a bathroom so that he could spy on two of his female employees and record intimate images of them.
In a plea bargain deal, the unnamed snooper accepted an 18-month prison sentence, which means that as it was his first offence, he will avoid jail.
Prosecutors in Alicante originally called for a six-year prison term, but he’s also been ordered to pay a total of nine thousand euros in compensation to his two victims.
The events date back to 2015 over a four-week period, when In a scene straight out of a spy movie, the pervert used a tiny camera which was placed in a pen, which in turn was put into an umbrella that was put in the employees bathroom.
Some 35 recordings were made, with the manager claiming two years ago when he was arrested that the camera was purely for security purposes.
One of those recorded suffered anxiety disorders once the covert operation had been discovered.
