Torrevieja’s council chamber in the town hall (pictured) was one of four venues in southern Alicante Province that staged a series of Brexit briefings featuring the British Consul, Sarah-Jane Morris.

Meetings were also staged on Monday and Tuesday in Rojales, Pilar de la Horadada, and the La Marina urbanisation.

All the meetings had a common thread of British residents expressing their greatest concerns over healthcare provision; UK state pensions; and the right vote, once Britain leaves the European Union in March 2019.

Sarah-Jane Morris said that it was crucial that all British people living in Spain have a residencia certificate and are on the local padrón ahead of next year’s Brexit deadline.
