San Miguel de Salinas council has ordered work to stop on a fence being erected on either side of a road that links San Miguel with the Las Filipinas urbanisation and the Orihuela Costa.

The council said that the landowner was acting in a breach of a council-granted license and that there were also access implications for a cattle track, which the authority was going to get further information on from the Valencian government.

The move comes after complaints from the residents association, La Asociación de Vecinos San Miguel Arcángel, who claimed that the width on parts of the Camino de la Balsa was dangerously narrow for road users because of the work that was taking place.
