A 74-year-old British man was rescued last Wednesday by the Guardia Civil and Dolores local police after falling onto the floor of his Dolores home, and lying on the floor for four days.
A neighbour called authorities after not seeing the unnamed man for several days, with knocks on the front door and phone calls producing nothing.
The Guardia and the police called in Almoradi firefighters to smash the man’s door down and found him on the floor unable to move, and he was in a bad state as he had not eaten for four days.
He was taken for treatment to hospital, with Dolores social services being made aware of his case and circumstances.
Dolores local police praised the initiative of the man’s neighbour and said that residents should not hesitate to contact them if they were worried about anyone.
