The Guardia Civil have arrested two women for extorting 90 thousand euro and two cars from a San Miguel de Salinas man in order to stop them telling his partner that he had hired the services of a prostitute.

The man told authorities last month that he was being blackmailed by a prostitute he met at a nightclub in Torrevieja a year earlier. After the meetings,  the woman began to ask for large sums of money to prevent her telling his partner what had been going on.

The victim made a bank deposit of 40 thousand euro and a further 25 thousand euro, with the blackmailer getting greedier and demanding a further 25 thousand euro, plus the “lending” of two high-end cars, which were never returned to him.

Extensive inquiries by the Guardia Civil led to the arrest of a 32-year-old Romanian woman and a 36-year-old Bosnian woman for extortion crimes and other transgressions. Both have already appeared in court and have been bailed ahead of their trial.
