A tender for the drafting work for the dual carriageway upgrading of the N-332 highway in Torrevieja has been published by the Public Works ministry in Madrid, with construction not scheduled to start before 2020 at the earliest.
On the back of the recent formal announcement that the long-delayed project is going ahead, the ministry has published details of a tender this week in the Official State Gazette.
The first phase is a contract worth just under a million euro for the drafting of the new dual carriageway, with the period of the drafting work to take place over 18 months.
Assuming there are no problems in regard to environmental impact studies, the timings at their most optimistic level come out at showing the early part of 2020 as the earliest possible start time for construction work to begin.
Public Works minister Íñigo de la Serna said this week that 40 million euro would be invested in the project.
