Spending by international tourists visiting Spain is rising in tandem with the increased visitor numbers, with nearly two billion euro put into the country’s coffers by UK visitors alone in September.

Just over two million British tourists came to Spain in September, with their spending power up by six and a half percent compared to the same month in 2016. Falling exchange rates and any jitters over Brexit appear to have had little, if any impact, on visitor numbers and how much has been spent on holiday.

German and French visitors were the next biggest spenders, as 2017 is guaranteed to be the best ever year for international visitor numbers along with the money they put into the Spanish economy.
