The cranes have moved into a major Torrevieja site, after some 16 years of licensing delays. The council has given the green light to a big development at La Coronelita next to La Hoya, which in itself is the last major piece of urban land in the city earmarked for development.

The site at La Coronelita adjoining the Los Balcones area of Torrevieja is 300,000 square metres in size, with the potential for thirteen-hundred properties to be built, with the first phase of work involving the building of 300 homes.
