Valencia’s tourism chief Francesc Colomer attended the official launch of this month’s second Vega Baja Gastrocultural festival in Torrevieja, with 18 city restaurants getting involved in the event, which is three more than last year.

The festival highlights the region’s cuisine, and will run between Friday October 27th and Sunday October 29th, with low priced tasting dishes, including desserts, available for people to try.

Colomer (pictured shaking the hand of Torrevieja hospitality association president, Joaquín Guillamó) said that the three days were an important way to showcase local food as a means of attracting tourists, whilst Torrevieja mayor José Manuel Dolón (pictured right) commented that the festival recognised all the hard work that is put in throughout the year by people to put the area on the map.
