Local cuisine and entertainment were the order of the day for last weekend’s Vega Baja Tourism Fair staged on Avenida de la Purisma in the centre of Catral.

Ten municipalities joined forces again after the successful staging of last year’s first event in Almoradi, in a showcase for local culture, produce, and leisure promoting all that the Vega Baja region has to offer for any visitor.

Food on offer included sweets from Catral and Los Montesinos, as well as a 200-kilo meatball, and artichokes from Almoradi, whilst the entertainment included zumba and flamenco dancing.

Each of the participating authorities had their own stands, with Rojales mayor Antonio Pérez (pictured) welcoming a visit from Los Montesinos mayor, José Manuel Butrón, to his  municipality stand.
