Despite record-breaking tourist figures featuring British visitors coming to the Costa Blanca this year, the Valencia Tourism Agency has hired a PR company to promote the region to the UK travel industry.

That’s because it wants to cushion the impact that Brexit and lower exchange rates may have on British visitor numbers next year.

The Información newspaper reports that the Mediaco company is running a campaign aimed at British travel agents, travel journalists, tour operators, as well as potential tourists to promote what the whole of the Valencia region can offer UK tourists over and above good weather and beaches.

Activity breaks like cycling and walking are being pushed along with the history of the region’s towns and cities, in addition to the many festivals that take place during the year. The area’s variety of dining is also being promoted, along with opportunities for business tourism.

Mediaco will also support the promotion of the region during the annual World Travel Market in London.
