Authorities are trying to discover the identity of a woman who fell off a seven-metre wall at Alicante’s Santa Bárbara castle on Friday.
The victim is said to be around 30-years-old, and fell from the Benacantil wing of the castle shortly before 9.00 pm.
Reports since the weekend say that she has been mainly unconscious, having been sedated, with multiple fractures but not in a life-threatening condition. Her sedation meant she was unable to give details of her identity.
She was not carrying any ID documents and only her mobile phone, and nobody has contacted Alicante General Hospital to make any enquiries about her. The police have been going through her mobile phone to see if they can reach someone who can help.
During some brief moments, when asked about the incident, she says she cannot remember anything. Police believe the fall was an accident, but are keen to find out her identity so a friend or family member can be contacted.
Emergency services were called by other visitors who had to climb down on foot to where she lay, as it was very difficult to reach, and strap her to a stretcher to be carried up again.
