A new mobile phone application has been launched that will allow visitors to the Mar Menor the instant facility to let authorities know about any environmental problems.

Murcia’s tourist minister, Javier Celdrán (pictured holding the tablet), says that ‘CONECTAmbiental’ allows users to send details of any incident, like poor water quality at beaches via a simple online form.

The app features all kinds of details about the Mar Menor’s beaches including weather and UV index information, along with bathing conditions and the latest status of the red and yellow flags.

If the app is a success, it will be expanded to take in other parts of the Murcia region.
