Robot technology is being used at Orihuela’s Vega Baja Hospital to help brain-injured patients  rehabilitate, as a new system is being piloted in conjunction with the Miguel Hernández University in Elche.

Rehabilitation of nine patients, concentrating on their upper limbs, is being done via the Robotherapist 2D computer programme. Sensors are used to work out the condition of a patient, and it stimulates the damaged area of the brain, with a robotic attachment to the arm.
