Two British men have pled guilty at an Alicante court to stabbing two people at a Costa Blanca bar in February 2011, after a late-night argument turned violent.

A man, identified as JAF, was given a 31-month jail sentence for attempted murder at the establishment in Alfàs del Pi after he tried to knife a customer in the neck.

A second assailant, MF, was given 16 months for causing injury by stabbing another customer in the hand.

Both British nationals, who fled the scene at the time, had their sentences reduced because of the length of time it took the time for the case to come to court, along with having agreed previously to pay compensation to the victims.
