San Javier council held a special ceremony on Sunday to recognise the work done by everybody last December in helping to deal with the aftermath of the severe storms that hit the area.

Dozens of medals and certificates were presented by San Javier Mayor, José Miguel Luengo, who paid tribute to what he called “the silent and anonymous heroism” of local people to get things back to normal after the storms struck.
