A long-running dispute between firefighters in Alicante Province and regional management has reached a new level  with a number of vehicles found daubed in graffiti slagging off bosses.

The province has 13 fire stations with union leaders saying that most of them had been in hit in Elche and Torrevieja with slogans calling for the resignation of Alicante Provincial Council president César Sánchez and the Council’s Emergency services spokesman Jaime Lloret.

Firefighters say that a series of agreements have been breached between the union and management, and last autumn they staged overtime bans due to what they say a lack of manning across the province.
