CD TORREVIEJA 0 CD CASTELLON 3
With one point from eight games, Torrevieja really do cut a miserable figure at the bottom of the table. Unsurprisingly, no side has conceded more goals and no team has scored fewer than them so far this term, and it was more of the same against Castellon at the Nelson Mandela stadium on Sunday.
Castellon hit the woodwork twice, made Buba pull off a couple of great saves and netted three times. Torry’s only on target effort was a speculative punt from fully 45 yards, which was readily gathered in.
A fairly innocuous cross from the left on 43 minutes seem to baffle Buba and his timid defence, allowing Lolo to nod the ball home from outside the far post. It was a poor goal to concede, especially so close to the interval.
Just after the hour mark Juanmi handled the ball in the box when on defensive duties and the visitors doubled their advantage through a Juanfran penalty. A third was added five minutes before the end with a simple tap in from Alexis after straightforward work down the right flank.
Pastor was unable to feature in this contest as his registration paperwork had not come through from Australia, and will make a difference when he gets the chance. He will need considerably more from his team mates if Torry are to start picking up points as the club has hit dire straits on and off the field, and they go to Bunol this Wednesday evening.
