CD Torrevieja are embroiled in a compensation row with their ex-manager Gabi Correa, where apparently money isn’t an issue, yet it is holding up the club’s confirmation that former boss Pedreño has officially taken over, and could lead to Torrevieja getting penalised.
The Informacion newspaper has reported that Torrevieja faces a fine from the Valencian FA if Correa’s replacement, Pedreño, is not confirmed in his post ahead of Sunday’s match with Castellon. Rules prohibit a club not having an officially designated manager for more than two games, with the possible level of sanctions not been declared, which will be a further blow to the cash-strapped club.
The hitch over Correa’s pay out revolves around the cash being paid out in instalments, which Correa claims come with no guarantees. He resigned after CD Torrevieja failed to get a single point from their first five matches of the season.
