Two matches in for CD Montesinos have produced two defeats for Monte, with Sunday’s four-one home defeat to CD Murada proving too much for the club’s football committee, who held an emergency meeting after the match and promptly sacked manager Camacho.

The committee said that the performances were not good enough for a club that wanted to be in promotion contention, so they made their move. On Monday, they announced the appointment of ex-Torrevieja CF manager, Carlos Perez as manager, with former FC Torrevieja player, Angel Ivan, joining him as his assistant.

“It strikes me that this is a well run club,” said Perez. “I also know some of the committee members and noticed the excellent support at the club when I watched them at just a friendly match. The next thing I knew was that late last Sunday evening the club contacted me, explained the situation and asked me to take over, which I did on Monday night at the training session.”

With injured men like Vaz and Fernando returning to training this week, and new management in charge, the slate will be effectively wiped clean for the visit of Playas Orihuela a week on Sunday (October 16th). Montesinos will take on town rivals Todo Deporte in a friendly this Sunday with a 5.00 pm kick-off.
